What I think, IT Exports is not just one process, Its dozen (processes).
We need to work from the Grass-root level.

at first, we must have good educational institutes, There are very few credible institutes in Pakistan.
We need to provide students with top quality IT labs.
IT professionals are leaving the country to other countries and Pakistan has not produced enough IT professionals (We should have a forum for all the IT individuals). In-result, our youth also losing interest in IT because of no scope.

first, bring professionals, back to Pakistan so our youth can see they have a future for their profession in Pakistan. Then they will start generating interest again.

Come up with up to date technology, hire young IT professionals to work on it and give Pakistan a better image in terms of IT so the export business can run good

    Several reasons:

    1. Guidance: Students dont know the potential mostly. They need to be educated in colleges & universities.
    2. Absence of payment system: Pakistanis cant get paid by foreign companies easily. Bank account setup is not easy .. paypal doesn’t function in pakistan .. There are countless hindrance .
    3. No govt support: Govt doesn’t have a plan or encouragement for the students or young entrepreneurs to start their own IT exports. Rather they are slammed and harassed by FBR for taxes and other legalities. Your ‘difficulty’ of doing business is the main reason IT exports are minuscule.

Get well thought of laws and processes in place – and strictly enforce them.

We need to focus on animations and gaming. The global industry for both of these segments is close to USD 300 billion per year. We have good talent in these areas with some box office hit movies. We should have road shows in relevant industry events in US and Europe, show casing our talent. Also we should give targets to the commercial staff in our embassies abroad.

knowing where to start and how to increase IT exports is a very challenging task. What are we looking to achieve in the short, medium and long-term? Starting with mature markets close to home would be advisable. Once we have developed a strong network of partners internationally, we can then work up to more difficult markets.

Possibly increase investment in the sector and focus on long-term initiatives. The investment needs to be in creating IT universities/IT academies/IT training centers and giving our developers exposure to the international market.

We need to attend all major international IT Expos, exhibitions, conference and exhibit all apps and software developed in Pakistan by Pakistani developers

  • Fariha

Measures such as lower cost of doing business, easy access to skilled human resources especially developers will result in higher IT Exports.

    We can do the following
a.Try to study the global situation
b.Understand the requirements country wise of software and apps.
    c.Ensure competitive pricing
    d.Be excellent at customer service.
