The e-Government infrastructure which is lacking in Pakistan, needs to be put in place by significant corporation between government and the private/public sectors. The government doesn’t have the capability to fight cyber security and neither does it have the capabilities to implement e-governance. It is time the government of Pakistan understand the importance of working with the private IT Sector.
Cybersecurity and e-governance are mammoth tasks in their own rights. Each of these has to be taken as separate projects and will take years to achieve implementing e-governance means getting rid of the paper pushers in the bureaucracy which can never happen in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s government needs to put in place an e-Government infrastructure that should have the capability to provide services in a timely manner, irrespective of disruptions, a capability known as Survivability.
